About:
I AM Zimbabwe Trust is a not-for-profit, Non- Governmental Organization (N.G.O.) formed in August 2015 by Edward Tsango, a longtime Mbare resident and community advocate.

Vision:
To nurture, educate and empower a community of safe and healthy, children, youth and older adults.

Mission:
To impact and change the lives of vulnerable children, youth and elderly people in urban and rural communities through the delivery of high-quality educational programs, community engagement activities and social outreach programs.

Values:
  • They are a non-tribal, non-political and non-religious organization
  • They hold the needs of children and youth as their top priority
  • They maintain a high standard of integrity and professionalism

February 2023 Update:
We are pleased to update you on our charity's recent activities. Due to communication issues with Jesuit Missions and other factors, it may take some time to put our accounts together. However, we want to let you know that your donations have made a difference in the lives of 400 pupils at our primary school for destitute children, which has continued to grow. We also received a donation of equipment for a new preschool in Epworth, a suburb that receives less help from local benefactors. Our youth groups played a crucial role in providing food to neglected families during the COVID-19 outbreak in Mbare and three other suburbs. Our umbrella organization, "I am Zimbabwe Trust," has inspired about a dozen groups in other areas. We have received some funding in January 2023, and we are completing an application to CAFOD for our counselling groups.
Thank you for your support, and we will keep you updated on our progress.

Cafod are an international development charity and the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. They
reach out to people living in poverty with practical help, whatever their religion or culture. Through their global Church network, one of the largest in the world, they have the potential to reach everyone. And they campaign for global justice, so that every woman, man and child can live a full and dignified life.

How to get involved with CAFOD
Whether you donate, campaign, download prayers or volunteer you are saving lives and helping Cafod ensure that no one is beyond reach of the love and care they need.

CAFOD and Catholicism
https://cafod.org.uk/About-us/CAFOD-Catholicism
At CAFOD, thier mission is to work alongside the world’s poorest people. They work without prejudice, they don’t preach, and they pride themselves on their diversity. They believe their Catholic values are best shown through love for others, and by working for justice and an end to poverty.

CAFOD’s vision, mission and values draw directly from Catholic Social Teaching (CST), Scripture, Liturgy, the Gospel and the tradition of the Church. Catholic Social Teaching is at the heart of what we do and who we are.
Read CAFOD's vision of progress: Our Common Home

Over the last five years at CAFOD they have been particularly inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical letter Laudato Si' and its call for us all to respond to both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.

They have looked again at what progress really means, in dialogue with partners from around the world.  Cafod know that everything is interconnected. We believe that we are called by our faith to stand alongside poor communities and care for God's creation. And our response is rooted in this belief. "Love, overflowing with small gestures of mutual care, is also civic and political, and it makes itself felt in every action that seeks to build a better world" (Laudato Si' 231).
