CATENIAN BURSARY FUND
FRIENDSHIP  +  FAMILY  +  FAITH  +  FUN

If you are Catholic and aged between 16 to 24 you may be eligible

Picture
Every year the Fund supports young Catholics from all over the world who volunteer to do something wonderful and help those less fortunate than themselves. Whether this is on an individual project, or with others – or even if you are planning to travel to Lourdes or on the Jumbulance to help an assisted pilgrim.

Click here for a link to The Catenian Bursary website with the full list of acceptance criteria plus useful tips on how to successfully pitch your project.

Members of the 10,000 strong Catenian Association make regular contributions and raise funds to maintain a bursary fund. This is used to provide grants to young Catholics to help them with the costs incurred in volunteering to work on community-based projects at home and abroad. Each project must have a clear benefit for others as well as widening the life experience of the volunteer. Click on the link above for more details.

Celebrating Joseph Canning’s Remarkable Journey: A Testament to the Impact of the Bursary Fund

The Bromley Circle is delighted to share the uplifting story of Joseph Canning, a young and devoted Catholic from St James Parish, Petts Wood, whose life was touched by the Bromley Circle Bursary Fund. In the September issue of our newsletter, we take a closer look at Joseph’s inspirational journey to Malawi, a trip made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Bromley Circle.

Earlier this year, our Circle had the privilege to sponsor Joseph’s expedition to Malawi alongside his school friends. This educational and charitable journey was not just an adventure but an opportunity for growth, learning, and giving back. Although a technicality prevented him from receiving support from the National Bursary Fund, the Bromley Circle, with immense pride, stepped in to ensure this deserving young man had the resources needed to embark on this transformative experience.

Marking the only bursary from Province 7 in the 2022/23 period, Joseph’s story underscores the pivotal role of the Circle’s support for the Bursary Fund.

Joseph is now embarking on a new chapter, pursuing a 4-year program in Business Management at  University. His journey, marked by passion, dedication, and the enabling hand of the Bursary Fund, mirrors the ethos of our Circle - supporting promising individuals in their educational and personal development.
